Juin sat up and looked at Lucifer. "To you, humans are nothing but weaklings and livestock. But I'm a human, and they are my people. Even if we are from different worlds, they are still the same as me."

Lucifer scoffed, "You are being weak again, Juin… You insist on thinking that they are the same as you, when you are, in fact, way better than them. You are not just a human. You are my vessel, and you are the vessel of two powerful souls. Do you really think you are the same as those puny humans?"

"They are all that I know of, Lucifer," Juin said with a sigh. He wiped his hands on his pants a few times, as if he had seen dirt on his hands. "Enough…"

He stood up and said, "I want to find out what actually happened in this world."

Lucifer rolled his eyes and said, "You're going to waste your time again. I truly pity your teammates."

Juin shrugged. "They can go ahead if they want, but I want to do something about it. Besides, Luca is more than capable of leading them. I'm sure they would be safe without me."

"How are you going to tell them that you want to travel by yourself? You want to reveal to them that you can see souls? Do you want them to know your true ability?" Lucifer said in a cold voice as he floated down to stand right in front of Juin. As their eyes met, he asked in lower volume, "Are you sure you are ready to deal with what's coming after?"

Juin glanced at him. He knew Lucifer was right, but there was no way he could just stand by and do nothing. Whatever it was that "eliminated" the natives of this world obviously didn't just "eliminate" them. It turned them into those chimeras, forever trapping those poor humans in the bodies of animals.

"And don't forget about the Dark Night Clan."

"What about them?"

"They lost to you previously, and I don't think they are going to take kindly to your teammates. Are you sure they won't attack them with you gone? And those Nakamura groups as well," Lucifer pointed out. "Humans or not, your duty is not to this world. Your duty is to your teammates."

Juin felt that Lucifer had a point, yet how could he keep going knowing that the chimeras were most likely natives of this world who had been cruelly turned into oddly formed animals?

"Juin," Lucifer suddenly said in his rare kind tone, "Listen to me. There's nothing you can do for them. Get the treasures that can ensure your victory, and you can---"

They suddenly sensed that something was wrong, and Juin immediately forced himself to wake up. When he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was a 20-meter long dark blue python.

"What the.." Juin gasped as he watched Luca and Caelian battling against the blue python while Cyrus stood guard in front of him.

"You're awake!" Wolfe finally glanced back when he heard Juin's gasp.

When they got back to Juin, the guy was sleeping peacefully by the river, so they thought of taking a short rest while waiting for Juin to fully recuperate. However, not long later, out of the river came this humongous blue python who attacked them without provocation.

Worse, it seemed that their powers were useless against this obviously intelligent creature. One of its heads seemed to be responsible for the defense while the other was responsible for the offense. When Luca sent his wind blades towards the python, instead of cutting it, it merely passed through its body.

"This is a water python!" Wolfe said as he leaped out of the way of an attack with Juin on his back.

"I can see that!" Juin yelled as he quickly conjured a fireball to disintegrate the ball of water that one of the heads spat towards them. "Let me down!"

Wolfe immediately dropped Juin down.

The problem was, they were on top of a tree 10-meter tall!

"F*ck!" Both Wolfe and Juin finally realized the extent of their dumbness.

Luckily, Juin was no longer a helpless weak teenager. He quickly grabbed onto a branch and flung himself forward towards the python that had turned its attention to Luca and Caelian. Even though the python had its eyes on Luca and Caelian, it somehow managed to sense Juin, and its tail flew up to form a barrier between itself and Juin.

"Argh!" Juin was flung into its tail.

Despite being made out of the water, its tail was as hard as steel. Juin would have been badly injured if he didn't manage to call out his shield at the last moment.

"What the hell is this water python?!" Luca cursed as he crossed his hand in front of him to avoid the water arrows heading towards him.

Thud!

A series of thuds could be heard when the water arrows landed on his wind shield.

Not only was the python capable of turning its body from solid to liquid state and vice versa in split second, but it could also control the state of its weapons.

"Luca!" Juin yelled as he avoided the swing of the python's tail. "Don't hurt it!"

"What the f*ck are you talking about!" Luca roared back as he sent a tornado towards the python.

"Damn it!" Juin cursed when he felt the aura from the tornado. When he saw the inside of the tornado speeding up, he had a feeling of what Luca was about to do.

He quickly formed a spell and cast it towards Luca. The spell shot out of his hands, forming into multiple flaming ropes, all heading towards Luca.

Of course Luca sensed the attacks coming towards him, and he immediately put on a wind shield in the way of the incoming flame ropes. However, it only managed to block the ropes temporarily before the flaming ropes moved to the sides of the wind shield and caught Luca.

"JUIN!" Luca roared as the flaming ropes tied him up tightly. When he fell to the ground like a tightly wrapped burrito, his face turned red from the embarrassment as he yelled out, "LET ME GO!"

Juin managed to distract Luca's attention while attracting the attention of the python.

BAM!!!

The tornado that Luca sent out missed the target and hit the other side of the river instead. Almost immediately, hoarfrost started to form around the hit area, covering the blades of grass first before climbing up the trunks of the surrounding trees.

It wasn't really the power of ice. Rather, it was the clever manipulation of wind. Luca, who had total control over wind, could control the temperature of the wind, and using the inside of the tornado that he created, which was typically colder than the outer environment, he managed to drop the temperature into below freezing.

It was just another sign of how scary Luca could be when he set his mind to do something.

Juin was sure that Luca did not have such control when they were in Atlantis. Whatever training he received in the last few days must have been quite brutal.

The python realized what could have happened to him if Juin did not distract Luca. One of its heads, the one with a cross on its forehead who was clearly doing the strategizing, nodded at Juin while the other one glared at Luca angrily.

Ignoring its other head, it charged towards Luca with its mouth wide-opened, where its next attack was in.
