"Mian, go ahead. When you're finished, come to my office. We'll go out for lunch."2

"Okay."

After Jiang Xiaowei left, Huo Mian entered the office with Lin Mingyu.

To be truthful, Huo Mian didn't want to come to trouble him. Four years ago, she already used him to get information about Song Yishi's corpse and used it to clear Mr. Qin's name.

Anyone would have an opinion against that.

Huo Mian was prepared for Lin Mingyu to yell at her or chase her away.

However, none of those things happened. He let her into his office.

"Have a seat."

"Okay." Huo Mian nodded and had a seat.

"What drink would you like?"

"Water is fine, thank you."

At a place that reeked of formalin, she was in no mood to drink tea or coffee.

Lin Mingyu poured a cup of water for Huo Mian.

"Speak your mind, what would you like me to do for you?" He jumped straight to the point.

"Doctor Lin, my friend, he's been wrongly accused and detained by the City Bureau. He's being charged with aggravated assault, but he didn't do it."

"Your friend is Su Yu, right?" looking at her, he asked.

Huo Mian nodded. News about Su Yu had broken out all over the city, it was no wonder that Lin Mingyu knew.

"Go into the details, I'll see what I can do."

After speaking, he pulled out a notepad and a black ballpoint pen to jot down important notes.

Huo Mian recounted the details that Su Yu told her to Lin Mingyu.

"So what can I do?" Lin Mingyu asked Huo Mian.

"I believe that the wound on Liu Ze's wrist wasn't due to a small knife. Su Yu is sure that he didn't do anything. When he entered, he saw the knife on the ground and picked it up out of curiosity. That's where the fingerprints came from."

"But the City Bureau isn't that stupid. If it wasn't due to a small knife, they would've been able to tell," he rebutted.

"Liu Ze is clever, I have a wild guess," Huo Mian said in a serious tone.

"What is it?"

"I believe that another weapon caused the wound on Liu Ze's hand. He's a doctor, he knew that if he used the fruit knife to frame Su Yu, the evidence would stand against him… Quite possibly, he used that fruit knife to add a deeper wound on top of the already existing wound."

"You mean that to frame Su Yu, Liu Ze used the fruit knife to cover the original wound to make it appear as if a fruit knife did it."

"Yes." Huo Mian nodded.

"He's smart, he knows how to cut." Lin Mingyu was a little surprised.

"He's smart, that's for sure. He's a doctor, so of course he knows how to cut." Huo Mian stuck with her hypothesis. 

"Ha, that's interesting then…"

"So I want to clear his name, and this is where I want to begin."

"Say whatever you want me to help you with."

"I want you to reassess Liu Ze's wound for me and see what he was trying to cover up."

"You can do this kind of stuff yourself, Huo Mian… I heard that when you took your exam, your dissection skills were godlike… You shouldn't ask me to do it for you, you're gifted enough to do so," looking at her admiringly, he said.

"But I'm not a forensic doctor. The Bureau and the judge won't recognize my work. They will recognize your work," Huo Mian slowly said.

"But… why should I help you?" Lin Mingyu looked at him and faintly said.
