The Last Assassination
It was too sudden when his world shattered. Lukas Lefebure watched as the blood from his grandson lay on the pool of blood of his own. Still, the war in Rossie continues but after the report of the malfunction of the Titan suits, he knew that everything went south.
"Sir? Commands?" His secretary waited for his answer.
"Retreat." He mumbled. "Get away from that woman far."
"Which woman?"
Lukas showed his grandson how that woman controlled everything. They won the war without killing all of those people. His life was over as there were no more sponsors. It was all because of the Phoenix. Even without the Dragon Empire's backup or the EPUA, they won the war.
"Let's pack up and leave." He said as the man nodded.
"Where to?"
"Far away. You know where."
The man left as he stayed in his office. The maids started packing everything in his office. He stayed there for hours. Then, he would go to his grandchildren's room. He finally went back to his office and took the papers from his vault.
"I think I should take that." A familiar voice startled him. But he remained calm as he slowly turned around. "The fact that your father continuously tried to take our country. Subsequently, I am here to take what you did from us. Where's my mother's necklace?"
"Karmina." He turned around but he froze seeing Hannah Grace behind her.
"I know you have it." She chuckled as she stepped forward and patted him. "You were very much like your father." She then took the box and opened it, seeing her mother's jewels. Then, she took another box that they couldn't open. "Have you opened this?"
"Karmina, take it." He said. "You won."
Karmina handed the other box to Johanna. Then she unlocked the other box.
"This one was from my Aunt. My young Uncle's wife. No one can open this even if you tried to break it." She opened it and showed the necklace to him. "Remember this? This is owned by the Chief of the Phoenix Empire. It was passed down to the daughter which my Uncle married to protect their bloodline." She caressed the beautiful phoenix in pure gold. Not a coin but a phoenix. "There are a lot of chiefs from that Empire and this one can foresee the future. Not just the disastrous one but their clairvoyance was at a higher level."
She took it another time from the vault. Lukas was frozen. He knew well that it was his time to die. Karmina took all of the family jewels, and family heirlooms that she should pass down to her kids.
"You see, I've been worrying about these gems ever since I sat down on my throne."
Johanna approached Lukas as she pointed him to his seat. The old man did it. Then, Johanna took out his gun where he exactly put it there. She checked the magazine of the golden pistol as she removed all of the bullets and left one.
"So, you've been fucking with my family for years. That includes my biological parents. But I am glad that they are dead though." She sighed. "Okay, I want you to just pull the trigger." She chuckled nonchalantly and shrugged. "Not on us. You know where." She bent down and fixed his hair. Then, to his collar.
"Wait, before that."
Karmina approached him and gave him a paper and pen.
"Come on. Sign it." She smiled.
"Can you leave something for my great-grandchildren?"
Karmina scoffed.
"I only plan to take all of my belongings."
He looked at it and then signed it. Karmina took it and gave it to her husband.
"Now, sleep. Deep." Johanna told the man. She gave the gun to him as someone barged in and pulled the trigger. Their guards were busy killing the Lefebure guards and someone happened to sneak out although he was injured.
Blood was already dripping on the floor. They didn't expect that to happen as Johanna automatically cocked the pistol and pulled the trigger. It hit the man right to the chest but at the same time, the man also pulled the trigger as Henry blocked it for his wife.
"Henry!" Karmina screamed and held her husband before he fell to the floor.
Johanna quickly took her gun and killed the man again in anger. Then, she pointed the gun at Lukas who raised his arm.
"Jo," Karmina panicked as she reached Henry's chest where his heart is located. "Jo~~" Karmina cried.
Johanna quickly helped Henry and put a quick first aid.
"Where's Violet?" She asked. "Don't we have that thing?"
"We don't." Johanna tore off her shirt to press it to Henry's chest. The man started gurgling blood. "Papa." She called. "Hang on, okay." She kept pressing her radio as shortly their guards came with first aid. They quickly put him on a stretcher while they were giving him first aid.
Johanna faced the man and put another bullet into the pistol.
"Do it." She gritted her teeth.
The man sighed as he held their crest and he pointed the gun to his forehead and pulled the trigger. Johanna watched the man's lifeless body sitting on his chair. She took the boxes as she contained her tears and followed them. One of their agents escorted her. Gray, who was there, was shocked.
"How come that you didn't see this?!" Johanna shouted at him. Gray held her and hugged them.
"Everything that I foresee has limits." He mumbled. "I'm sorry." Johanna pushed him hard and gave the box to him.
The chopper waited for them as they put Henry in. Karmina quickly rushed to his side holding Henry's hand while the agents were doing their best to save him. They injected the nanomites that they kept in the helicopter.
Johanna watched as the helicopter left. Her heart breaks as she knew well that he won't be able to make it. She dropped to her knees and started sobbing. Gray hugged her to comfort her.
"What did you see?" She pushed him as she grabbed his collar. "Tell me!"
Gray closed his eyes as he foresees a funeral for two.
"I'm sorry. Even those nanomites won't save him."
Johanna looked up above.

Keira was organizing the kid's clothes when suddenly, their family photo fell from the wall. She froze as she quickly stood to pick it up. Suddenly, she felt that uncomfortable feeling. Her heart was thumping indifferently. She felt butterflies in her stomach as well.
"Tata," Quinn and Dione entered the room as they giggled while Calli was holding their hands.
"Calli, you can walk now?" Keira asked and rushed to her. The baby girl sat down on her butt and raised her arms at Keira. She picked up her baby girl and kissed her. She then looked at Violet who was there, looking nervous. "What's wrong?" Keira asked.
"We should go to the great room."
Keira followed Violet to the great room. Everyone had gathered and Sandro also arrived with Alex. The two already looked mourning. Their eyes are red probably from crying.
"What's going on?" She asked them as she tried hard not to think of something bad.
"The war is out. Uh, we need to prepare." Sandro looked away as he couldn't look at his wife's eyes.
"Yeah, for what?" She asked again.
"Dad's gone. Henry's gone."
Keira frowned at her husband.
"What do you mean gone? I don't understand." She shook her head.
Sandro rushed to her and hugged their baby in the middle.
"Love, what do you mean?"
"They invaded the mansion of Lefebure, taking back the gems and an injured man from Lefebure came in and aimed it at mom~~but dad took it to protect mom." His voice broke as tears started rolling down his cheeks.
Keira was dumbfounded as he stared at nowhere. Sandro's arm tightened so she wouldn't let go of their baby. She suddenly felt very weak after hearing. As a husband, he remains calm. He gently pulled her to sit down as everyone looked very downcast. Keira was sobbing as Calli pouted seeing her mother cry. She never sees her cry as the baby also cries. 2
"Why cry?" Quinn asked as Victor picked her up and patted her head. "Why to cry, Dada?" the little girl asked Victor. Even Dione was pouting as she ran to Cole and hugged him.
Alex quickly turned back and walked away. He felt weak at that moment. His best friend is dead, again. This time it was more painful. It was more painful because Karmina witnessed it. There's not just one who died but two. Two family members of Rossie and Del Carlo. He felt useless for not being there to protect his best friend. He leaned on the wall as he fell into his butt. Silently crying over his man.
"Why my dad?" Keira cried as she started getting out of breath. Alex, who was outside, listening to his daughter's cry.
"Keira, please. Calm down." Sandro took Calli from her as Violet took the baby girl. He held her hand and squeezed it. "Keira, hey." He wiped her tears. "Breath."
Yves quickly rushed with a bottle of water and opened the cap as Keira sipped on the water and tried to calm herself.
"Sandro~~please… tell me you are joking." Her lips curved as tears kept rolling. "Please, not my dad. You~~" She hiccupped. "You are joking, right?"
