Carter's Goodbye
Lukas was staring at nowhere after they found out that every missile that they released was countered by another. It was from the Rossie Empire and at this moment, the Rossie Empire was being praised by other countries as the missiles didn't destroy any countries as currently, they also take a bit of responsibility from their war on cleaning up the ocean where the few parts of the missiles. Not just that but other countries are already supporting the Rossie Empire although their country is small. 2
They are losing resources. Not just that. But there's a spy that has been with them. How didn't he know about this? They already wiped out all of the Phoenix with other empires that supported it. There's one that is gifted and is currently with Rossie. It was only meant to be a bad thing. He also can't contact his grandson who was probably sulking. He made sure that he took away his wife so she won't die and the baby. He needs to keep up their blood.
"Grandpa," Janella entered the room and sighed. "I'm sorry for the loss."
"Your sister-in-law. Take her away." He said. "Take her away from Luke."
"Fine. Are you afraid that he will hurt her?"
"Once is enough," Lukas said.
"Alright," Janella quickly left the mansion as she went to the airport to pick up the wife.
It only takes minutes for the plane to arrive and sees a bruise on her neck that she hid with the scarf and a few more bruises on her arm that made her heart sink. The maids already packed up everything that she needed as she took her to another private plane.
"Where are we going?" Kira asked as she followed Janella.
"Away from your husband before you get killed." She said calmly as they entered another plane. Then, on that plane, a boy was there with a nanny and a few more bodyguards. She stared at the boy who looked so much like Luke. It made her shudder but Janella placed a hand over her shoulder that somehow startled her.
"Elon," Janella called as the boy jumped off and ran to her. "Meet your step-mom."
"Mommy!" Elon hugged the woman as he excitedly ran around. The nanny took him and smiled.
"Come on, the plane is leaving. You should sit down and buckle up. Okay?"
"Why is he here?" Kira asked as Janella took her to the special seat.
"You should get used to it. Would you rather take care of him or be with your husband? Choose." Janella dared.
She nodded her head as she sat down and stared at the boy who smiled and jumped off as he gave her his Rubix cube. Then, he hugged her and ran back to his seat. Somehow, the more he stared at the boy, Luke's features started fading as she saw on his lips the beautiful feature of his biological mother. She looked away as she looked down at the Rubix cube.
"Did you often visit him?" She asked as she put the seatbelt on.
"I do. He's a good boy. There are times that he's too hyper."

Keira entered the room as she had breakfast for Carter. She smiled when the old man was sleeping peacefully, holding an old photo. She put the breakfast on the small table as she reached for the photo in his hand. She looked at it and smiled. It was Carter, her grandfather, and Karmina's siblings and mother. But she froze when she realized that his hands were a little cold. She reached for his hand and looked at him.
"Gand~~papa. Morning!" Dione stood beside Carter's bed as she rubbed her eyes. "Bunny." She giggled.
"Carter," Keira sat beside Carter and reached his neck to feel his pulse. "Carter…" She called and shook him but he didn't respond. "Dione, can you call the Nurse?"
"K~k." She nodded her head and ran out of the room. Jaime approached the bed and reached Carter's hand. He looked at Keira as if they knew what was happening.
"Why today?" Keira mumbled. "We won, Carter, although it's just a start. Carter," She called again. She sighed as she tried hard not to cry in front of the kids.
"Jaime, can you please take your siblings to the other room?"
"Yes, Miss." Jaime picked up the sleeping Quinn and he woke up Cole who rubbed his eyes. He took his hands as Yves does the same to Kal.
Keira watched as the kids were evacuated except for the babies in the crib. Shortly, the nurse came and checked Carter. She finally tore as she contacted her mother and told her what happened. She was heaving as she cried over Carter's chest.
Victor looked broken-hearted watching Keira cry. For him, Keira was already like his baby sister as Johanna adored her so much. He approached her and patted her back. Then, he looked at the nanny cam. Just facing him and the kids. He took it as he went out to review it.
It was Midnight, the same time when they celebrated their success. They partied a little and Carter looked so happy. Just after thirty minutes, everyone was asleep as Carter stared at the photo in his hand that he kept safe.
"My King, My Queen. Karmina made it. Her beautiful children are successful. I can't be happier, my King. I did what I promised." He continued as he caressed the photo. "I will be with you soon."
Then, the old man stayed lying as he raised his hand.
"Your majesty… my King." He mumbled. It was ten seconds and slowly, he put down his hands. After that, Carter never moved to the same spot." He held the photo until his last breath.
Victor might not believe in the angel of death. But seeing this footage made him think that there are things that are unexplainable that science can't even foresee. He cleared his throat as Kal peeked at the door many times. He took Kal's hand and smiled at him.
"I want to see Grandpa," Kal told him. "Grandpa, sick?"
"Grandpa needs to rest, Kal," Victor told him. "He will be sleeping for long."
"He won't play now?"
"I am afraid not, Kal."
Kal pouted as he followed his father. They all gathered in one room as Quinn slept in Jaime's arms and Dione was peeking at the door.
"Gand~~papa. Bunny. Play." Dione showed her Bunny stuff toy.
"Baby girl, I am sorry. But Grandpapa is asleep."
"I play later," Dione said. "Mik~~peasseee." She approached Tracey.
"Sure thing, baby love."
Victor looked at his wife as he nodded his head. Violet patted her baby boy as she went to the other room. Keira was still crying silently as she spoke to her mother over the phone. She looked devastated while she was holding the photo that Carter was holding before he died. She exhaled slowly as her chest painted a little. Carter was there for them. He poured all of his time protecting the Rossie Empire and securing the place for Karmina and the Rossie heirs.
"Mom, please come home. Okay?"
"Darling, I am afraid that his home is here." Karmina sniffled. "I will set up everything. For now, they won't be able to fire another. We will hold Carter's funeral here."
Keira sniffled as she nodded her head.
"The babies will keep asking about him. Dione even woke up early and went directly to Carter. I just wished that Carter would've stayed with us longer although I know that he's tired."
"Oh, sweet pea. I'm sorry."
Watching Keira cry somehow makes Violet emotional. She looked away as tears rolled down her cheeks. Although Carter wasn't always there, there was a lot of time that they spent together. He was there to back up Harvey every time. He was there for them.
"Grandpapa…" Quinn ran to the bed and crawled up. "I got fishy! We play." She told him. But she looked disappointed when Carter didn't respond. "Why cry, Mimi?"
Keira hugged Quinn as the baby girl patted Keira's head.
"No cry, Mimi."
"Oh, Quinn…" Keira sobbed. Quinn pointed as she somehow cried as well.
"Why cry? No cry." Quinn also wailed as she looked sad that Keira was crying. Then, Keira calmed down shortly as she also made Quinn calm. Quinn scolded her not to cry again. "No cry. I give you Okane." She said as Keira chuckled.
"You don't have to." Keira gave her a lot of kisses.
"Keira," Violet hugged them. "I will take care of this. You should go to Calli. She's awake."
"Okay," She nodded her head as she took Quinn with her.
Violet approached Carter as she bent down and kissed his forehead.
"You look happy, Carter. Please be happy and blessed wherever you are. We will still keep your memories alive in this world as the kids love you." She looked at the Nurse who was staring at Carter with tears. She bowed her head and started sobbing. Even the nurse in the middle age was crying in front of Carter. It only means that even Carter left great memories with her.
