16: Kill Steal.

Kill Steal.

A several minutes ago.

Three figures were crouching behind a bush. They looked straight in from of them, toward the Wild Bear in the small clearing.

''Tom, are you sure about this?'' A young man with short blond hair asked with some uncertainty.

''Luke, trust me! This will be an easy kill.'' Tom said with a confident expression. He was a slightly taller man with brown hair.

''I-I am not too sure about this... What if someone kill steals it?'' A young woman next to them asked. She had long brown hair, with average-looking face, and leather armor.

''Jess, have some faith alright,'' Tom said with a grinning expression.

Jess and Luke sighed.

''If we die... We will become Level 1 once again, and we can't play for another week... We will be left behind others by a great deal.'' Luke tried to talk some sense into their stubborn leader.

Tom snorted, ''If we kill the Bear, we will Level Up, and get a lot of White Coins.''

Jess and Luke wryly smiled— once Tom decided to do something, he would do it and won't let anyone stop him.

''Let's sneak attack and deal as much damage as possible. Rest will be easy.'' Tom said and walked over the bush.

Jess and Luke followed behind him, they dodged every twig on the ground, trying to be as silent as possible.

The Wild Bear was only meters away from them, a single noise would alert him.

Tom held his sword in an attacking stance. Ready to strike at moment's notice.

He and Luke were swordsmen, while Jess was Healer. They were real-life friends and decided what classes to choose beforehand.

Jess was holding a green-colored cane, which was healer's equipment. Without the cane, she would be powerless.

Tom and Luke were standing next to each other. Only five meters from them, the tall bear was still oblivious of their presence.

Tom showed three fingers toward Luke.

First, he lowered one finger, and showed only two.

After, he lowered another one, and showed a single finger.

And finally, he lowered the last finger, and both of them leaped across the air.

''RAAA!'' Tom screamed his battle cry and chopped his iron sword down.

Luke swung toward the Bear's neck. He remembered previous things he had learned. Head and neck gave critical damage whenever he managed to land a hit on them.

After those experiences, he found out that the attacking-wise, it wasn't that different from real life. If someone got their head chopped off, they won't shake it off.

The Bear heard a loud shout, however, before managing to do anything, he felt two sharp items stabbing through his flesh, reaching deep inside his neck.

''GRAAAAAAAAAA!'' The Bear roared in agony.

The Bear turned his ferocious red eyes toward Tom and Luke.

''One more!'' Tom shouted, but before managing to land a following attack. The Bear's paw appeared above him.

''LOOK OUT!'' Jess shouted. Her face paled significantly, and she was ready to heal if necessary.

Tom sidestepped, however, the Bear's reaction was even greater and slapped him away.

''UGH!'' Tom groaned in pain and crashed to a nearby tree.

''JESS, HEAL ME!'' Tom shouted.

Jess turned her cane toward Tom. The tip of the cane started sending out green pixels, sending a hue of green toward Tom.

''Heal!'' Jess shouted.

Tom felt an warm sensation spreading through his body. The feeling only lasted a second, and soon he was ready to continue.

[HP: 34/58]

Tom stood up and rushed toward the large Bear.

Luke was desperately trying to dodge the Bear's paws, but his luck ran out, and the Bear used his paw to smash Luke into the ground.

The Bear was about to finish him off, but out of nowhere, Tom appeared behind him with his sword pointed downward.

''RAAA!'' Tom dug his sword deep on the Bear's back.

''RAAAAAAAAAWR!'' The Bear madly roared and started twisting his body. Even though the bear did it out of pain, it sent Tom flying several meters.

Both Luke and Tom were down on the ground, and only 5 HP remained on the Bear.

''JESS, HEAL ME!'' Tom screamed.

His HP was lowered by Bear's hit as well. He grimaced after glancing at his HP, and felt his vision getting darker and darker.

''I-I can't. It is on cooldown— wait for 10 more seconds!'' Jess cried out with a pale face.

''WE DON'T HAVE 10 SECONDS!'' Tom cried out and saw the Bear stomping toward him menacingly.

''D-Damn...'' Tom muttered with despair. He grabbed the hilt of the sword tighter, and was ready to do anything for survival.

*SWISH*

''Ah!'' Tom cried out and felt something hit the back of his head. He rubbed his painful head, and felt an bump.

''Eh?'' He moved his hand around the bump. However, soon his vision became completely dark and he lost control of his bodily functions.

It didn't take long for his body to turn into light blue particles.

Luke and Jess stood silently, visible shock on their faces. Jess tried to touch the pixels, however, they phased through and disappeared once landing on the ground.

''H-How?'' Both of them asked simultaneously.

*SWISH*

Two rocks left the forest and struck Luke in the forehead. He couldn't react and had same fate as Tom, turning into pixels.

''L-Luke...'' Jess went pale and started retreating. Her body retreated further away from the small clearing, and when she reached the forest, she though she was safe.

The Bear looked confused as well, but, heard Jess' quiet sound.

The Bear turned his menacing red eyes toward the fearful brown-haired girl. Jess paled considerably after feeling the bear scanning from head to toe. She was the prey, and was under the bear's whim whether she would survive or not.

However, before the bear could take another step. Similar flying projectile left the forest and struck it in the face.

''RAAWR!'' The Bear felt instant anger. The red eyes glowed with greater intensity. However, before his anger could be unleashed on anything, the large body of the bear turned into light blue pixels.

Jess's foot landed on top of a small twig, however, she wasn't expecting it and fell down on her butt.

''Ah!'' She felt surprised after her vision swam in awkward angle. Whoever attacked them, would target her next, and she knew it.

She had to leave, however, her feeble legs didn't listen to her commands, almost making her cry in frustration.

*Crack*

Her body froze. Behind her, a clear sound of twig cracked in half was heard.

Before she could do anything, an cold metallic texture touched her hair and the back of her head.

''Sorry about this.'' She heard a voice, very pleasant voice. She knew one thing, it belonged to male, very attractive one.

She wanted to turn her head to take an look, but, never managed to do so.

*BANG!*

A hole appeared on her forehead. Her body leaned forward with drips of blue blood dropping down to ground.

Her legs were the first one to transform into pixels. Soon, rest of her body, and Jess was witness for the whole thing.

Isaac sighed and glanced at the notifications in front of him.

From the ground, Isaac grabbed three Leather Armors, two iron swords and healer's special green-colored cane.

''Ahh...'' Isaac was rather disappointed, but planned to sell it anyway.

The item he received from killing the bear also found it's way on his hand.

Isaac's nametag became from white to pure orange.

''Orange...?'' First time since he entered White Online, he noticed the nametag's color changing.

The pond made from blue blood showed his reflection. Allowing him to see his nametag as well.

''It came from the player killing, I guess...'' Isaac scratched his head— he couldn't return to the village with an orange nametag.

''Well, since I can't return... Time to do my Quest.'' Isaac said aloud and moved the Quest Interface in front of him.

Isaac heard a dinging noise— A holographic screen popped up and next to the Map, a red blinking spot was disappearing and reappearing.

The Map didn't only show the Swornword village anymore, it also showed the Forest. Isaac saw the red dot being near the center of the island.

''I guess there is the Wolfie...'' Isaac murmured and understood that he had to go deeper into the forest to reach the Wolf.
